Wild Berry and Bodacious

Live Like Your Nail Color
By Mary Foley

Wild berry. That's the name of my favorite nail color. To me it says fun, bold, sexy, and just simply makes my fingers and hands look so good. It's a funny name for a nail polish, but then so many women's cosmetics have funny names. There's Mango Spice lipstick, Roaring Red blush, and Whispering Mist eye shadow.

Just saying these words makes me think of walking along the beach on a tropical island wearing a flowered sarong, matching top, and the perfect make-up to highlight my features against the setting sun... while George Clooney comes running towards me!

Oh, how the mind gets going! I so very much want to live like my nail color – full-up on passion and feeling alive! Take me away Wild Berry!

Now I know that painting my nails Wild Berry or any color, for that matter, won't magically create this alive sensation. To feel that way has to come from within. Only after I've connected with, nurtured, and allowed myself to release my passion for life, can I truly be Wild Berry. Starting on the inside is the starting point for living up to my nail color.

Who knew there was so much to learn from a nail color?! Who knew that when I started my young adult life as an $8-an-hour customer service rep at America Online, I would rise through the ranks, get married along the way, and discover in myself, the desire to be much more like my nail color than I ever expected?

My internal good girl was aghast! But my inner Bodacious Woman was starting to push her way to the forefront. Good thing, too, because personally and professionally, life would knock me around a bit and test just how much I wanted to be "wild" about taking care of myself as well as my future.

And, I'm not alone. Many women struggle to feel good about themselves and their lives. Perhaps you're one of them. You've wanted to feel like your nail color but you've had fears or guilt or pressure in your life to stay put and not cause waves. Been there, done that, and it's not a fun time!

In my own struggle, there were times when I wanted to feel like Wild Berry but I felt more like Wet Leaves. But, in time, I found another way, a way that affirmed my existing internal strength and enabled me to get stronger, wiser, healthier, and be a whole lot more fun! I call it the Bodacious Way.

How To Pack For A Trip To Europe

How To Pack For A Trip To Europe
By Victor Epand

1. One linen suit with draping, wide-legged pants, fitted jacket and light colored fabric. These two pieces can be worn together, or separately. The pants can be worn with any cute top, and the jacket can be worn on chillier nights.

2. Two calf-length or longer skirts in white, light or bright colors that can be dressed up with a nice top or dressed down with a cute tank top and flat shoes.

3. Comfortable sandals with small wedge heels. (Walk around in these a lot to make sure they are comfortable and don't rub you in the wrong place)

4. Strappy high-heeled sandals for your nights out and special dinners

5. Two pairs of capri pants (or full-length denim jeans if you aren't too warm in them) light colors if they are fabric or in a medium or darker wash if they are denim, and without holes or tears (even if you bought them that way). Europe tends to frown upon the more relaxed American styles and is much more formal than casual.

6. Two semi-formal shirts, maybe a kimono top, in float material. These are really cute, especially on petite people, and they also keep you cool while still being dressy and not too casual or revealing.

7. 4 or 5 assorted tops and tank tops- small and easy to pack. Please note that some places in Italy do not allow bare shoulders due to strict religious believes. You will mostly encounter this if you go to visit a catholic cathedral, or any of the primary attractions that are in a church. Bared shoulders, midriffs or legs above the knee are considered inappropriate.

8. Two lovely little dresses that are at least knee length and can be dressed up or dressed down.

9. One swimming suit, careful again about the formality issues in some of these countries. You can wear a two-piece swimsuit bikini, but do bring along a sarong or some other kind of cover-up for when you are out of the water.

10. This last one is a combination: comfortable tennis shoes or flat walking shoes and two lightweight jogging suits. I suggest this because of the fact that you will be spending a fair amount of time on buses, trains or airplanes, and it is most important there to be comfortable.

11. Jewellery and accessories are an excellent way to change your style - maybe a chunky belt to put over a dress in the day time, and an elegant set of jewellery for the night time. Also remember that your makeup can stay light and colorful in the day, and you can create a Smokey-eyed look for evenings out.

You could wear these same basic items every day and just change around colors and hair style and no one would ever notice that you are following a pattern! All these items wont wrinkle very much and can be rolled in your suitcase which can give you more room.

Of course, don't forget your under things like bras and plenty of underwear! Bring sunglasses, and find a cute hat or two so you don't get too much sun in your face and eyes.

Bikini Bathing Suits

Bikini Bathing Suits

In 1946, Jacques Heim introduced the Atome, which he called the world's smallest bathing suit. The Atome was modified by an engineer called Louis Reard two months later, and named it bikini, after Bikini Atoll, the site of nuclear weapon tests in the Marshall Islands. He named it so because of the anticipated excitement it would cause, which would be like a nuclear bomb exploding.

In the United States, people were first encouraged to buy bikinis in 1957 when Brigitte Bardot wore one in And God Created Woman, and in 1960, with Brian Hyland's song Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini hitting the charts. The bikini craze actually started in 1963 with the release of the movie, Bikini Beach. Before that, the bikini was not welcomed in most parts of the world, including the United States, and was even banned from the Miss World Contest in 1951. It was not welcomed because of the greater amount of skin shown when wearing a bikini. Today, the bikini is seen as commonplace in most Western countries, and is worn by many of even the most conservative of women.

Bikini and Brazilian Waxing 101

Bikini Waxing - Bikini and Brazilian Waxing 101
By Kelly Price

The bikini and Brazilian wax are more popular than ever. Here we will look at the advantages of doing both and you will see why the Bikini and Brazilian wax are so popular.

While some women may still avoid bikini waxing, opting instead for the tried and tested razor, many more are taking the plunge and going all the way with the Brazilian wax.

Bikini waxing traditionally, removes only the hair that is visible around the bikini area. Brazilian waxing is a method of hair removal that removes all of the hair from the genital region.

Not for the feint hearted, Brazilian waxing is a trend that has grown in popularity for both men and women.

While bikini waxing remains popular, a Brazilian wax is undoubtedly the best way to achieve a smooth, sensual clean look and feel around the bikini area.

Bikini Waxing

Regular bikini waxing involves the application of warm wax to the area around the bikini line. A strip of cloth is pressed on top and then immediately ripped off against the direction of the hair growth.

Brazilian Waxing – what it entails
Brazilian waxing focuses on the genital area and involves the removal of hair from the areas around the vagina, perineum and anus.

The entire genital area is covered with talcum powder before hot oil is applied and the hair removed.

As with bikini waxing, the hair is removed by pressing a strip of cloth on top of the oil and then ripping it off against the direction of the hair growth.

Contrary to popular belief, Brazilian waxing does not necessarily involve complete hair removal. Some people choose to leave a ‘landing strip’, a line of hair above the vagina.

Different beauty therapists may use slightly different approaches. Some may use a strip of cloth as is used in regular waxing, while others may use just the hot wax, which as it cools, shrink wraps the hairs and pulls them from the roots.

Any stray hairs are removed with a pair of tweezers.

Brazilian Waxing - What to Expect

Having a Brazilian wax will involve you adopting various positions that you may find a bit embarrassing!

Expect to contort your body, be on all fours, hold your legs up in the air, to the side, over the therapist’s shoulder and anywhere necessary in order for wax to be applied and hair removed.
For a Brazilian wax, your pubic hair is required to be about a quarter inch in length and so it may be necessary for your therapist to trim it down to this length.

After all the hair has been removed a soothing lotion is applied to the area.

What Are the Advantages of Brazilian Waxing?
• Lasts between ten days and three weeks
• You feel clean, shiny and smooth
• Your partner may find it erotic
• Enhances intercourse
What are the Disadvantages of Brazilian Waxing?
The only real disadvantage is the pain but this lessens with subsequent Brazilian waxing and most people think it’s worth it.
Where to get a Brazilian Wax
If you are a wax virgin it may be an idea to start with a regular bikini wax first before graduating to the Brazilian wax and in all cases this is a treatment that you should definitely have done by a professional.
Is it Worth it?
For most people Brazilian waxing provides a long lasting sensual feeling that is definitely worth 15 minutes of discomfort (and embarrassment!) and can be enjoyed by both you and your partner.

Bikini Swimsuits

Bikini Swimsuits
By Kristy Annely

The bikini was invented by Louis Reard and Jacques Heim, in Paris in 1946. However, due to its skimpiness, hardly anyone had the courage to wear a bikini until the late 1950s, when actress Brigitte Bardot created a splash by wearing a bikini in the film, ‘And God Created Woman.’ The bikini revolution subsequently became a rage, and even got its own song: ‘Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini.’

Coming back to the present, bikinis have become modest in character. Bikini bottoms are offering more coverage than in the past without giving up on their sex appeal. Last season witnessed straight, top-line bikini bottoms. Surprisingly, there were hardly any deep-V bikini bottoms, thongs or G-strings in sight. With more coverage in style, fashion houses are predicting that the ‘skirtini’ is going to be the next big thing in the swimsuit industry.

Bikinis come in a variety of styles, the most popular being ‘Tankini’ (a longer top that leaves only a small portion of the stomach exposed), ‘Bandini’ (a bikini with a bandeau top), ‘Camikini’ (similar to the tankini except the top looks like a camisole), and ‘Boy Legs’ (the bottom is longer and resembles short shorts). The classic halter-top, however, is still in vogue although the ‘Bandini’ was the hippest bikini style last season, with almost every swimwear label producing its own take on it. For the ties that bind, sashes, rather than spaghetti strings, were in demand.

For those on the heavier side, sarongs continue to be a flattering way to cover up the extra pounds, although board shorts are a sporty alternative.
